of France, and Dance Connection of Germany (to name just few). By clicking
on the two character country code on the main Spanish site you will be redirected
to the website in that country. I really find this type of site just wonderful
as an example of what is so great about the Internet. You have a chance to
experience musical works of art from other cultures that you would not normally
get to experience unless you travelled to that country and spent some quality
time there.
Wouldn't you know it, but thanks to Quadra Q and the rest of the crew of Arteaparte I found some other great music from Italy. They sent me a compilation of some Italian music for my birthday that they were sure I'd like. I'm now a great fan of Ustmamò, Antonella Ruggiero, and Scisma. The Arteaparte crew are not only great musicians, but they are great people too! They have been so helpful not only with finding great music in Italy, but also in helping me with my Italian (I have been teaching myself Italian since the summer of 2000, and also started working on my Spanish, Russian, and Arabic on the side.).
Two other Italian pop music artists I discovered several years ago were Valentina Giovagnini, and Nagaila. Valentina Giovagnini had created some of the most beautiful music I had ever heard; it was a very sad day when she passed away in January of 2009 at the age of 28 in a tragic car accident.
In December of 2012 I discovered some exciting music by a few bands that were loosely classified in the neo-gothic/metal/electronic genres. These bands can't really be pigeonholed into a specific genre. Don't let the names of the bands prejudice you from listening to the great creative music they produce. In their cases it can be said, "Don't judge a book by its cover". From Italy comes Theatres des Vampires, and Domina Noctis. From Canada, The Birthday Massacre. From Germany, Xandria, and Leave's Eyes. From the Netherlands, Epica. From Austria, Illuminata, From Russia, Dark Princess.
One of the most anticipated movies of this year is Tomb
Raider
.
Based on the computer and console Tomb Raider series of games, it looks to
be an exciting film coming out June 15th, 2001. Angelina Jolie plays Lara
Croft, the character from the game, and from all the film clips I've seen,
she has the character down to a tee. Angelina Jolie has the mannerisms, the
look, the voice, the back-flips, and most importantly the ponytail just like
Lara Croft in the game. Who would have thought that Tomb Raider would become
the franchise it has turned out to be. Bringing in worldwide over 500 million
dollars US in revenue during its lifetime, it is available in many different
languages.
My favorite motorcycles are made by the Italian companies MV Agusta and Ducati
who make the most beautiful superbikes in the world. Talking about Italian
machinery, some of the most fun automobiles to drive are made by Maserati,who
returned to the USA market with the 3200 GT and who currently manufacture the Gran Turismo and Quattroporte.
If you can read French and enjoy movies directed by Luc Besson, Luc-Besson.com is a great site for finding out about his films, both past, present, and in the works. Jeanne d'Arc, The Fifth Element, la femme Nikita, Leon (aka, The Professional), and Taxi are among his better known works. His most beautifal films are Angel-a, and The Big Blue.

While I was at the playground, my father was off doing his spying for the United States by parachuting across the Iron Curtain during the Cold War. Exactly what he did, only he and the US Government know for sure. At the time, my father spoke fluent Russian, along with about seven other languages.

Community Animal Network is a for-profit animal rescue outfit that specializes in saving animals that are on death row in animal shelters and finding them homes after paying the costs of their medical expenses. This type of business may be the future for providing accountable nonpolitical non-fanatical help for solving the terrible problem of our nations' animal shelters being nothing more than animal disposal sites.
